Quick Start


Before doing anything else, add CERR files to the Matlab path:

  1. In Matlab, click File->Set Path...->Add with subfolders...

  2. Navigate to the directory where you unzipped CERR. Select the CERR folder and click OK.

  3. Click save in the previous window.

Importing RTOG

  1. Type CERR from the Matlab command prompt, and select RTOG.

  2. Select the 'aapm0000' file (or other '000' file) in the first dialog.

  3. Select CERROptions.m as the options file in the second dialog. This file is located in the directory where CERR was unzipped.

  4. The import will begin.

Importing DICOM

  1. Type CERR from the Matlab command prompt, and select DICOM.

  2. Select the directory to scan for DICOM files. After the scan completes, information about DICOM files in that directory is displayed in the Matlab window.

  3. In the prompts that appear, select the number of each plan/patient/dose/etc to import.

  4. The import will begin.

Plan Viewing

  1. Download one of the CERR example plans posted on this site.

  2. To start the slice viewer, type CERR at the Matlab command prompt and select Viewer.

  3. Click File->Openů in the viewer window, and locate the .mat or .mat.bz2 plan file.

  4. The plan will load. See the CERR user information guide for information on the viewer tools.

  5. To manipulate plan data directly, type 'global planC' at the Matlab command prompt. The data can be accessed from the planC variable that appears in the Matlab workspace.
